In 1987, John Walter wrote in the Fourth Edition of The Airgun Book: The Chinese products are usually crudely if sturdily made, and offer lower power and inferior accuracy than most of their Western European rivals. Some of these products are unauthorized copies of European designs such as the Chinese GLOBE, an imitation Feinwerkbau Model 65 air pistol, illustrated here. The value of this gun would be under $150 in 100% condition, but many of the new specimens are so roughly finished as to appear somewhat worn. While many of the airgun products from the Chinese State Factories have improved since then, the collector and shooter should carefully balance quality, backing, durability, ownership pride, and price.
