Trade name of BB rifles previously manufactured by J.A. Dubuar Manufacturing Company of Northville, MI circa 1890-1908. The Globe airguns were invented by Merritt F. Stanley, a former Markham Air Rifle Company employee. Stanley set up a small machine shop in the second story of the Ely Dowell Manufacturing Company in Northville, MI. Apparently unable to make a go of machine work by himself, he moved into a larger shop in the J.A. Dubuar Manufacturing Company and apparently began making the first Globe air rifles in 1890. Stanley had three BB gun patents issued to him; one for a lever action gun which evidently was never produced. Stanley’s patents went to Daisy Manufacturing Company in 1908 as Daisy closed down the production of another competitor.
