Current trademark established in 1877 and currently manufactured by Atkin Grant & Lang, Ltd. located in Hertfordshire, England. Henry Atkin Ltd. joined with Grant & Lang during 1960, forming Atkin Grant & Lang Ltd. No current U.S. importation.
Henry Atkin was apprenticed to his father at James Purdey & Sons in the mid-19th century. By 1890, he was considered a master craftsman of the gun trade. Atkin is best known for modified Beesley/Purdey action self-openers and modified Southgate type ejectors. Henry Atkin died in 1907, but the firm survived through various family members and later the Hodges family of gunmakers. By 1960, the firm merged with Stephen Grant and Joseph Lang.
