Approx. 25,000 produced with 2 frame styles observed. Frame sides lowered similar to the .22 ring trigger pistols in serials after approximately 18,000.

cartridge .41 Rimfire cal., 2 shot, 3 in. superimposed barrels, oscillating firing pin, spur trigger, many finishes, hard rubber, rosewood, walnut, ivory, pearl, or other 2-piece grips. Approx. 112,000 produced between 1867-1935. William Elliot's patent.

ELLIOT'S ZIG-ZAG DERRINGER


.22 short rimfire cartridge, 6 shot, 6 barrel cluster (rotating), ring trigger, 3 in. barrel cluster, blue barrel finish/silver frame most commonly encountered, 2-piece Gutta-Percha (hard rubber) grips. Fewer than 1,000 produced, long production from 1861 to early 1870s indicated by several nickel examples found in higher serial numbers, obsoleted nearly immediately with the introduction of the simpler design and cost of the Elliott 5 shot. Reputed to be Remington's first cartridge handgun. William Elliot's patent, desirable.

ELLIOT'S SINGLE SHOT DERRINGER

.41 rimfire cartridge cal., single shot, 2 1/2 in. round barrel, spur trigger, walnut 2-piece grips, blue and/or nickel finish. Approx. 10,000 produced, 1867-1888. Also known as the "Mississippi Derringer."

IROQUOIS REVOLVER

.22 rimfire cartridge cal., 7 shot, 2 1/4 in. round barrel, spur trigger, hard rubber, pearl, or ivory 2-piece grips, nickel finish, fluted or non-fluted cylinder. Approx. 10,000 produced 1878-1888.
