STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. REVOLVERS: SINGLE ACTION, OLD MODELS These vintage revolvers were manufactured between 1953 and 1973, and are chambered in .22 RF and several popular centerfire calibers. There are models and sub-models with variants in the Single-Six, Bearcat, Blackhawk & Super Blackhawk families. The single-shot Hawkeye is considered as part of the Old Model classification. The Old Model or Three Screw Single-Six, Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk models are visually identified apart from the New Model by the presence of three screws on the side of the cylinder frame - the New Model features two pins at the same location.
Ruger offers a free conversion kit that will upgrade the lock work, similar to the New Model, thereby offering the best of both technologies. Ruger will fit these parts-sets at their Service Dept. at no charge and return the original parts to the customer (see Trademark Index).
