COOEY

To date, Cooey firearms have a notable collector following in the Canadian market, but there has been limited collector interest domestically for most models in this trademark. One of the reasons for this is because original sources of spare parts are becoming scarce, as such, values should be based on the shooting utility and working function of the firearm rather than collector premiums due to rarity. Values for average condition single shot shotguns and rimfire bolt actions will typically range between $110-$340, depending on the desirability of the configuration.
Previous manufacturer located in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada 1903-1979. During 1961, Cooey was sold to the Olin Corporation and placed under the supervision of the Winchester Western Division. At that point, the manufacture of Winchesters (primarily for Winchester Canada) began and continued through the mid-1970s (see Iver Johnson).
