Known examples exist in the serial number range 1-50.

Japan had introduced a series of paratrooper variants of their standard service rifles with various forms of takedown or folding mechanisms. The TERA name is based on the Japanese terms for the rifles, Teishin Rakkasan Shoju meaning "Parachute Rifle". These rifles were based on existing service rifles. The Type 1 was based on the Type 38 rifle, while the Type 2 and Type 100 were based on the Type 99 rifle. While all of these rifles are rare, the most common variant is the Type 2 Paratrooper Rifle.
