5.56 NATO/.223 Rem. cal., GIO, includes DCM (disc.) 24 in. extra heavy fluted or stainless steel (disc. 2013) varmint barrel, competition trigger, rubberized pistol grip, flat-top receiver with mini-risers (adds 1/2 in. height for scope mounting), free floating vented tube forearm, 5 shot mag., controlled ejection path, choice of Black or A-TACS Digital camo (mfg. 2011-2013, compliant configuration only) finish. Mfg. 2002-2013, reintroduced 2017-2020.

The stainless variation included an adj. ergonomic pistol grip.
