The first Super Match noted is ser. no. 15550, a fixed sight model, and was shipped on Feb. 9, 1934.
The lowest serial number is 14310 and was shipped on July 10, 1934. However, two serial numbers were much lower than the expected serial number ranges. Ser. no. 2253 was shipped on June 18, 1940 and ser. no. 10312 was shipped on Sept. 25, 1935. It is unknown if these guns were roll marked Super Match, but they were noted in the Colt Records as Super Match models.
The first adj. sight Super Match is ser. no. 17091, and was shipped on Feb. 7, 1935.
The last adj. sight Super Match noted is ser. no. 35731, and was shipped on Jan. 17, 1947.
The highest ser. no. Super Match is ser. no. 35999, a fixed sight model, and was shipped on Oct. 20, 1939.
Approx. 40 were mfg. with match barrels and/or hand fitted actions, w/o mention of the Super Match markings.
Total .38 Super Match pistols recorded in the Colt shipping records is 3,961. 2,250 were noted as having adj. sight, and 831 were noted as having fixed sights.
