.380 ACP or 7.65mm cal., enlarged version of the Model C (similar to Browning Model 1922 in size), steel (early versions) or alloy (later versions) frame, lanyard loop, longer grip area, intended primarily for police use. Mfg. 1933-1964.

During German occupation from June 1940-1942, approx. 53,000 Model Ds were procured by the German military. These examples contain Waffenamt proof and acceptance stamps and are considered rare.
