.30-30 Win. or .32 HPS (High Power Special) cal., similar to Model 36 1st variation, 6 shot, 20 or 24 in. barrel, tubular mag., open sights, pistol grip stock, barrel band, leaf mainspring, thinner "perch belly" forearm, case colored receiver, upper tang, buttstock has a fluted comb and flat hard rubber buttplate. Mfg. 1936-37.

Rifles have "A" suffix, sporting carbine has "SC" suffix, and regular and carbine has "RC" suffix.
The Model 1936 has an upper tang inscription "Model 1936" and a case colored receiver. Also, the Model 1936 did not have a letter prefix in the ser. no.
