REMINGTON MODEL 1100 FIELD Description
12 (disc. 1987), 16 (mfg. 1964-1980), or 20 (new 1964) ga., 26, 28, or 30 in. barrels, various chokes, gas operated, checkered pistol grip stock and forearm, "cut" checkering and receiver scroll markings became standard in 1979, Rem Chokes became standard 1987 (introduced 1986 as $40 option), VRs became standard in 1985 on this model, 20 ga. lightweight frame became standard 1972, prices assume VR and Rem Chokes. Mfg. 1963-1988.
The Model 1100 20 ga. Standard (12 ga. frame) was disc. in 1969 (mahogany wood stock and forearm - advertised as a Lightweight), except for Skeet A & B grades. This model was produced only in a Lightweight or Mag. 20 (3 in. chamber), 28 ga., or .410 bore, before the release of the Model 11-87.
The Model 1100 left-hand, with the ejection port on the left side of the receiver was introduced in 1972 in both 20 and 12 ga., with either VR or plain barrels. The 20 ga. left-hand model was disc. in 1977.
