.38 S&W Special cal., introduced in September of 1950, double action revolver built on the square butt N 5 screw frame, having 4 or 5 in. barrels (6-1/2 in. rare), the 1950 Model became the Model 20 in 1957. Serial number range is spread over a wide range from approximately S75000 to S256133 with 9,493 mfg. circa 1950-1966.
