Subscribe to view GraphThe Model 39-1 was developed to handle the .38 AMU cartridge using same action as Model 39. 87 pistols were mfg, 10 of which were supplied to U.S. Army Marksman Training Unit. The remaining 77 guns were sold on the commercial market in 1977. To avoid confusion with the 9mm Model 39, all the guns sold commercially were marked Model 52-A. The guns supplied to the military were left unmarked.
