between 1960-1987, Model 21 production was limited to high grades, built to special order only, and 1987 was the last year Winchester carried Model 21 pricing in its catalog. On custom shop guns mfg. 1960-1969, there is no Winchester name on the barrels, but the Winchester proof mark is on the water table, along with a designation "Model 21" or "New Haven, CT" plus the ser. no. On Model 21s produced from 1969-1988, the water tables are stamped as already noted, and the designation "Model 21 - Winchester" is stamped on the top of the left barrel adjacent to the rib, next to the receiver. Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company is currently manufacturing Model 21 shotguns (marked "Model 21" only), including Grades 21-1, 21-5, 21-6, Grand American, and the Royal Exhibition. These guns are not marked "Winchester", and will not letter from the Cody Firearms Museum. Please refer to the Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company listing for more information regarding these newer custom Model 21s. Also refer to previously mfg. Winchester Model 21 listings under SHOTGUNS: 1879-1963.
