ANSON, E. & CO.

Edwin Anson and Company was a gunsmithing business, previously active from about 1890 to 1945. Models produced were the Ansonia air rifle (apparently a copy of the MGR rifle of Mayer & Grammelspacher), Star air pistols, and small numbers of the Firefly air pistol. They designed with Frank Clarke, but did not produce the Westley Richards Highest Possible air pistols and the Accles & Shelvoke Warrior air pistol. Ref: AW-May 1984.
Previous manufacturer located in Birmingham, England circa 1890-1945.
