GLOBE

The Globe airguns were invented by Merritt F. Stanley, a former Markham Air Rifle Company employee. Stanley set up a small machine shop in the second story of the Ely Dowell Manufacturing Company in Northville, MI. Apparently unable to make a go of machine work by himself, he moved into a larger shop in the J.A. Dubuar Manufacturing Company and apparently began making the first Globe air rifles in 1890. Stanley had three BB gun patents issued to him; one for a lever action gun which evidently was never produced. Stanley’s patents went to Daisy Manufacturing Company in 1908 as Daisy closed down the production of another competitor.
Trade name of BB rifles previously manufactured by J.A. Dubuar Manufacturing Company of Northville, MI circa 1890-1908.
