Current manufacturer established in 1949, located in Oberndorf/Neckar, Germany. Currently imported and distributed beginning 2009 by Umarex USA, located in Fort Smith, AR, and beginning 2012 by Air Venturi/Pyramyd Air, located in Solon, OH (previously located in Warrensville Heights, OH). Previously imported by H & K USA, located in Columbus, GA, Merkel USA, located in Trussville, AL, and by Heckler & Koch, Inc. located in Sterling, VA (previously located in Chantilly, VA). During 2004, H & K built a new plant in Columbus, GA, primarily to manufacture guns for American military and law enforcement. In early 1991, H & K was absorbed by Royal Ordnance, a division of British Aerospace (BAE Systems) located in England. During December 2002, BAE Systems sold Heckler & Koch to a group of European investors. Heckler & Koch, Inc. and HKJS GmbH are wholly owned subsidiaries of Suhler Jag und Sportwaffen Holding GmbH and the sole licensees of Heckler & Koch commercial firearms technology. During 2009, a licensed partnership was formed with Umarex USA Inc. located in Fort Smith, AR to manufacture and market airguns under the Heckler & Koch trademark.
