Mac-1 celebrated their 80th anniversary in the airgun business in 2012. Present owner Tim McMurray has spent a lifetime challenging himself, and others, to find the last bit of accuracy and power from standard production airguns. In 2004, he and associate Larry Durham, conceived the idea that became the first purpose-built field target gun to be manufactured in the United States. In 2005, Mac-1 started shipping their United States Field Target (US FT) Model rifle and in 2006 produced and shipped the US FT "Hunter Model" configuration of the gun. 2010 brought the addition of the US FT "Hunter BR" (BenchRest) model. Tim McMurray is continuing the practice of small-shop produced, high quality airguns in the tradition of makers going back centuries.
