QUACKENBUSH, H.M.

Henry M. Quackenbush (QB) manufactured air pistols from 1871 to the late 1890s and air rifles from 1876-1933 (sales from parts on hand continued until 1943. The authors and publisher wish to thank Mr. John Groenewold for his valuable assistance with the following information in this section of the Blue Book of Airguns.

The H.M. Quackenbush factory began air rifle production in 1876. The airguns sold from 1929 to 1943 were assembled from parts on hand. During that time no parts manufacturing occurred, only airgun assembly. Some airguns made after 1903 had two-part serial numbers, separated by a hyphen. The number to the left of the hyphen is the model number. These guns were available in several different types of boxes. The Model 1 came with a combination wrench and a cast iron dart removal tool. The other airguns came with a steel dart removal tool. Airguns with these accessories will command significantly more than the listed prices.

H.M. Quackenbush also produced airgun ammunition, rimfire rifles, and targets. For precise identification of all models and more information on the guns and accessories manufactured by H.M. Quackenbush, see the book Quackenbush Guns, by John Groenewold. Price adjustments for "original bluing" below mean factory bluing or browning applied instead of nickel plating before the gun left the factory. Reblued or replated guns are substantially lower in value.
For more information and current pricing on used QB firearms, please refer to the Blue Book of Gun Values (also available online).
Previous manufacturer located in Herkimer, NY from 1871 to 1943.
