STANLEY AIR RIFLE COMPANY

Merritt Stanley, a former employee of the Markham Air Rifle Company was granted at least three patents for BB guns, starting in 1890. He produced a BB gun under his own name circa 1889 in Northville, Michigan, then moved into the Dubuar Manufacturing Company of Northville which produced the Globe air rifles from the early 1890s. In 1908, Daisy consumed the Stanley and Dubuar BB gun production. Stanley may also have been involved in producing designs used by the Plymouth Air Rifle Company.
