He is remembered for his visionary efforts in firearms manufacturing and marketing, exceptional design skills, and his philanthropic donations in support of the firearms industry. Current manufacturer with production facilities located in Newport, NH and Prescott, AZ. Currently distributed by Umarex USA, located in Fort Smith, AR. Previously manufactured in Southport, CT 1949-1991 (corporate and administrative offices remain at this location). A second factory was opened in Newport, NH in 1963, and still produces single action revolvers, rifles, and shotguns. During 2008, a licensed partnership was formed with Umarex USA Inc., located in Fort Smith, AR to manufacture and market airguns under the Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. trademark.
