AMES, NATHAN P. AND VARIANTS

Nathan P. Ames, Sr. retired in 1829 and turned the business over to his two sons - Nathan P. Jr. and James T. Nathan P. Ames, Jr., who founded the Ames Mfg. Co. in 1834. From 1829-1865, the Ames interests were variously known as Ames Mfg. Co., Ames Arms Co., N.P. Ames Co., and Ames Sword Co. Nathan Ames also manufactured the Jenks Navy Model Rifle; please refer to listings under William Jenks located in the J section.
Manufacturer located in Chelmsford, MA 1808-1829 and Chicopee Falls, MA, 1829-1847.
