BAKER, MELCHOIR
Melchoir Baker manufactured muskets and swords as well as Model 1797 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Contract Muskets for the Federal Government in association with Albert Gallatin. In 1801 when Gallatin was appointed Secretary of the Treasury, he withdrew from the firm and Baker continued alone.
Located in Georges Township, Fayette Co., PA, circa 1781-1809.
