CARRUTH, ADAM

Adam Carruth manufactured muskets for the states of South Carolina and Georgia, and on November 14, 1816, he agreed to take over the government contract originally held by Elias Earle for 10,000 muskets. Due to some conflicts and disputes with the government, approximately only 2,200 muskets were ever manufactured or delivered.
