COMMITTEE OF SAFETY MUSKETS

Muskets made circa 1775-1778 by local/private gunsmiths to arm the American civilian population against possible British suppression of America's freedoms. Most of these muskets were unmarked as the makers did not want their names exposed to the British authorities as they feared punishment might occur.
