GALLATIN, ALBERT

Albert Gallatin secured a contract for the production of 1797 Commonwealth of PA Flintlock Muskets. Muskets were officially made by Melchoir Baker. Albert Gallatin was born in Switzerland and following his short-lived gun manufacturing career, he became a U.S. Congressman and Senator from PA and served as the longest running Secretary of the Treasury. Located in Fayette Co., PA, circa 1799-1803 and Clarksburg, VA, circa 1804-1808.
