MERWIN & BRAY

While not a manufacturer, the New York based firm of Merwin & Bray was the sole agent for Ballard rifles from 1862-1866. The company also contracted with Dwight, Chapin & Co. to manufacture the Ballard. During Nov. 1866, Merwin & Bray dissolved, and Merwin & Taylor Simpkins became the sole agent for the Ballard rifle. Edward Bray formed a new company to manufacture the Ballard called Merrimack Arms and Manufacturing Company.
