MILLER, JOHN & JAMES

Many gunsmiths manufactured revolving rifles of the Miller patented design. Commonly refered to as Billinghurst rifles since William Billinghurst was the best known maker. John Miller and his brother James recieved a patent for the design in 1836. They produced revolving rifles along with a combination O/U multiple shot rifle/single shot shotgun variation in Rochester, NY together until James passed away in 1843.
Located in Rochester, NY, circa 1829-1853, and Battle Creek, MI, circa 1854-1856.
