MURRAY, JOHN P.

Murray was the superintendent of Greenwood & Gray, which came to be known as the Columbus (GA) Armory. Rifles and carbines manufactured at this armory for the confederacy were marked "J.P. Murray". Prior to the Civil War, Murray was in a partnership - Happoldt & Murray, and after 1865 remained in Columbus.
Located in Columbus, GA, circa 1856-1889.
