AMERICAN WESTERN ARMS

American Western Arms, Co. purchased Armi San Marco and formed American Western Arms Italia to manufacture authentic Colt SAA models, and Richards-Mason-type cartridge conversions of the Colt 1851 Navy, 1860 Army, 1861 Navy, and 1872 Open Top. After a short production run, the cartridge conversion models were discontinued in order to increase production of the 1873 Colt Single Action Army.
Since these are cartridge firing revolvers converted from black powder reproduction pistols and require an FFL to transfer, these listings were moved to the Blue Book of Gun Values.

Previous trademark and importer located in Del Ray Beach, FL, previously located in El Paso, Texas. Manufacturing was located in Gardone, Italy, 2000-2004. During late 2004, the remaining assets of this company were sold and a new company was established as AWA USA in Hialeah, FL. SAA revolver components were manufactured in the former Armi San Marco factory in Italy (now AWA International, Inc.), and assembled in the U.S. This plant was thoroughly updated during 2000 with all new tooling, stringent quality control, and now has bone-colored case hardening in house.
