H&R 1871, LLC

In late 2007, Remington Arms Company, Inc. announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Marlin Firearms Company, Inc. The agreement includes Marlin, H&R 1871, LLC, New England Firearms, and LC Smith. The transaction closed in early 2008 and was followed by a strategic manufacturing consolidation move that resulted in the closure of its Gardner, Massachusetts plant.
During 2000, Marlin Firearms Co. purchased the assets of H&R 1871, Inc., and the name was changed to H&R 1871, LLC. H & R 1871, LLC utilizes the original brand names of Harrington & Richardson and New England Firearms, and does not accept warranty work for older (pre-1986 mfg.) Current manufacturer and holding company located in Madison, NC since 2008. Previously located in Gardner, MA 1991-2008.
