Well-known and appreciated in international circles for the quality and the reliability of their products, the arms factory F.lli Pietta plays an important part in the world production of replicas. The company history began in 1960 with the production of hunting guns. During 1964, following a large increase in demand for American Civil War arms reproductions, the company began making muzzleloading revolvers. The first model, the Colt 1851 Navy, enjoyed immediate success, and was followed by some other popular variations. Other models quickly followed, including the Colt 1860 Army, the 1858 Remington New Model Army, the Spiller & Burr, the LeMat, which was awarded the prestigious prize in 1985 as "the best gun of the year" by the American National Association of Federally Licensed Firearms Dealers, and finally the Starr.
Each piece is produced with exacting quality control standards in order to guarantee parts interchangeability. Skilled and highly specialized personnel perform fitting, polishing, and assembly by hand. As a result, Pietta has achieved both success and industry respect worldwide.
