Ithaca Gun Company, LLC resumed production on the Model 37 slide action shotgun and variations during 1989 and absorbed companies including Syracuse Arms Co., Lefever Arms Co., Union Fire Arms Co., Wilkes-Barre Gun Co., and others.
The Cody Firearms Records office offers Ithaca Gun Company research letters for some models, which have been donated to the museum by Ithaca Authority and author, Walt Snyder. Factory letters are available for approximate productions years 1886-1939, late 1950s, early 1960s, and mid 1980s. The collection includes Lefever Arms Company, Inc (1921-1939) and Western Arms Corporation (1930-1939). SOUSA GRADE
has mermaids on trigger guard in gold, only 11 manufactured (including one .410 bore). The famous band director and composer, John Phillip Sousa, assisted in the development of this model. Very rare.
