The first eleven guns were completed in 1982 (serial numbers starting at A796437) and were used for test and evaluation samples. Full production began in August of 1983 with serial number A840000. 25 of the first 100 guns were nickel finish, class "A" engraved and shipped with a presentation case, marked "First 100". However, while they were marked "First 100" they were not necessarily the first hundred serial numbers.
