Unusual Specially Marked and Engraved Glocks USA
During 1996, there were 500 matching 9mm Para. cal. pistol sets produced consisting of the G-19 and G-26 and 1,500 matching .40 AUTO pistol sets produced consisting of the G-23 and G-27. These sets were called "Defense Set". Mathematically, only 500 sets of 4-pistol sets exist. Realistically, it is believed less than 80 4-pistol sets were sold to specific dealers. It is possible these 80 dealers further broke up the sets. Accusport Corp. was unable to effectively sell the 2-pistol sets; thus, most were broken up with single pistols being sold individually to dealers across the country. The side of the slide is engraved with "Defense Set" 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 with no US suffix.
Model 19 "Defense Set" "1 of 2" Serial Prefix AAA0000-AAA0499, 2nd Generation "Checkered Grenade" frame - Model 26 "Defense Set" "2 of 2", Serial Prefix AAB0000-AAB0499, 3rd Generation "FG" finger grooves (only) no rail frame - Model 23 "Defense Set" "1 of 2", Serial Prefix AAC0000-AAC1499, 2nd Generation "Checkered Grenade" frame - Model 27 "Defense Set" "2 of 2", Serial Prefix AAD0000-AAD1499, 3rd Generation "FG" finger grooves (only) no rail frame.
Therefore, to have a set of 4 pistols with the same serial number is less likely than 80 out of 500 or less likely than 80 if they were broken up further. A low serial number will command a higher premium.
Also during 1999, the "2 Millionth Glock" 17 pistol was produced, Serial Prefix DAP000US. It was auctioned off at a Sheriff's Police gun show. It has been appropriately engraved "My Two Millionth Pistol" and it bears the engraved autograph of its inventor, Mr. Gaston Glock. The slide has been uniquely engraved with a rather unusual geometric pattern. The proceeds were donated to a law enforcement foundation. A sister pistol, ser. no. 2,000,001 was also auctioned off in Nuremberg, Germany. These two pistols were 3rd generation "FGR" finger grooves and rails frame.
During 2006, there were 1,000 model G-19 3rd Generation "FGR" finger grooves and rails frame pistols produced Serial Prefix KNF000-KNF999 and 1,400 model G-23 3rd generation "FGR" finger grooves and rails frame pistols Serial Prefix KWG100-KWG999, KWR500-KWR999. The side of the slide is gold laser engraved "Homeland Defender" with a small circle and the United States of America flag in the middle. Ellett Bros. was the distributor of these pistols to dealers.
