7.65mm cal., 4 3/4 in. barrel, similar to Standard M1899, except has oversized slide, frame, and magazine. Frame lacks reinforced sides. Only 7 made for military trials and evaluations in Belgium, U.K., Imperial Russia, Denmark, and others. Pistols are internally numbered (1-7), wooden or hard rubber grips. Made as FN tool room prototypes, these pistols exhibit exceedingly fine workmanship and tolerances. This is the rarest FN Browning model. Mfg. 1899-1900.
This model was extensively copied in Asia resulting in thousands being dispersed worldwide. These copies display various levels of workmanship, usually valued in the $300-$650 range.
