BROWNING SUPERPOSED EXPOSITION/EXHIBITION MODEL Description
this specially manufactured Superposed saw limited production from pre-WWII through 1976. There are true Exposition/Exhibition models that usually have gold lettering on the barrels, special shaped triggers, trigger guards, and specially shaped top laches. Many also have carved stocks. True Exposition/Exhibition guns are typically valued in the $30,000-$60,000+ range as they typically have the high-level master engravers work that were specially selected for these special project “one of a kind” guns. True Exposition/Exhibition guns were made for a very special reason, purpose, or person and represented the pinnacle of Browning’s FN production.
"C" series guns were a special production for the FN European market that were not as popular in the FN market. Most "C" series did not have carved stocks or gold lettering on the barrels, and because of low demand were often sold at discount values to Browning dealers in the USA market. “C” Series guns typically start around $10,000 with more desirable configurations including small gauges valued in the $20,000- $30,000 range.
Field-choked and Superlight small-bore guns usually demand higher values, while small bore, all optioned side plated Exhibitions are of the most valuable, whether C Series or not. RKLT guns usually demand higher values; however, it should be noted that the RKLT configuration (unless by special order request) was not typically produced during this production period when many of Exposition and “C” Series guns were produced. After 1965/66 RKLT configurations were discontinued from normal production.
