Colt Bisley Model SAA Description
numbered in the same serial range as the standard Single Action Army, the Bisley model featured a more curved forward and longer grip strap and a smaller, raked back hammer. It was designed with the target shooter in mind and named after Bisley, England, the location of the international shooting matches during the late 19th and early 20th century. It was offered in the same barrel lengths, the same finishes and most all of the more popular Single Action calibers, .32 WCF (.32-20) being the most popular. It was advertised from 1896 (approx. ser. no. 165900) to 1912 (approx. ser. no. 323000). The highest number known (331916) was assembled in 1915, but not shipped until November, 1919. Slightly over 45,000 were produced 1894-1915. RF=1.
