COLT BOA Description

.357 Mag. cal., Royal Blue finish, Python-style ventilated rib barrel with full length ejector rod shroud fitted a MKV action, fully adj. sights, checkered rosewood grips with gold colored "Rampant Colt" medallions, total production of 1,200 units equally divided into 600 units of 4 in. and 600 units of 6 in. barrels. Entire production run purchased by Lew Horton Distributing Co. of Southboro, MA. 1985 retail was $525.

100% values on the following Boa models are intentionally omitted, as ascertaining accurate values is very difficult. Since 2019, prices realized at firearms auctions for the Boa have almost quadrupled, surpassing any standard production Python variation. In 2021, more than one Boa sold at auction for $30,000 or slightly more. In January 2022, a consecutive pair sold at auction for more than $64,500 (which was not one of the rarer 100 cased presentation sets). Currently, the Colt Boa is the most desirable and sought-after Colt "snake gun."
