similar design to the Second Issue, .22 LR cal. was added beginning 1930, heavy barrel was introduced in 1935. Mfg. 1927-1949. Last patent date Oct. 5, 1926.
For all short barrel Officers Models, beware of "cut-offs", and check patent date locations and the front sight and its location carefully. Identify pre-war grips by the three stud holes visible on reverse top of grip panel. A very few original Nickel finish models were made. These are extremely rare and should be verified with a factory letter.
