Serial range 1 through approx. 47000. Mfg. 1865-1882. RF=1.
This model has been identified for decades to collectors as the Model 1853 or the Model 1862 Pocket Model Navy. Recent research indicates that a more correct model name for this revolver is the Pocket Model of Navy Caliber.
Because of being produced during the advent of the metallic cartridge, the number remaining in the original cap and ball configuration is rather few; scarce with any serial number, but particularly so in numbers over approx. 19800.
