CROSMAN MODEL 100 Description
- .177 cal. version of Model 101 (see Model 101). Mfg. 1940-1950.
The Early Model Barrel Problem: Some variations have brass barrels and brass body tubes, some have steel barrels with brass tubes, and in others both are steel. Dean Fletcher reports that from about 1925 to early 1927, barrels were rifled steel, probably made by nearby Remington Arms. From about 1927 to 1946, barrels were all bronze. From 1946 to 1947, barrels were either bronze or steel and in 1948 they were all bronze. Crosman preferred bronze for ease of tooling and because condensation which resulted from adiabatic cooling of discharge did not so easily corrode bronze.
