CZ 531 Description
.243 Win., .270 Win., .308 Win., .30-06, 7x64mm, 8x57mm, 8x60mm, 8x64mm, or 8x68mm, 4 shot detachable (.243 and .308 only) or internal 5 shot (4 shot, 8x68) mag., receiver drilled and tapped for scope bases, short extractor and plunger type ejector, double set trigger, tang safety with locking button, 23.6 in. (25.6 in., 8x68) barrel, adj. open sights, checkered walnut stock with Bavarian style cheekpiece, recoil crossbolts and vent. recoil pad, approx. 7-7 3/4 lbs. 766 rifles mfg. 1985-1988.
CZ 531 was the firm's initial departure from the Brno-type (improved Mauser) centerfire rifle designs. Only .30-06 cal. rifles have been observed. Not until the introduction of CZ 555 in 2006 did CZ return to the push-feed style (short extractor, plunger ejector) action.
