.32 S&W, .38 S&W, or .44 Webley centerfire cal., copy of the English Webley "BULL DOG" Model, solid frame, upper frame section behind and below hammer has curved half circle cutout (First Issue mfg. 1879-1880) showing lower hammer or curved changed to straight square corner cutout (Second Issue mfg. 1880-1881, Third Issue mfg. 1881-1887, and Fourth Issue mfg. 1887-1890) frame increases in size/weight for each larger cal., topstrap marked "BRITISH BULL DOG" (First Issue mfg. 1879-1880, Bull Dog two words), "BRITISH BULL-DOG" (Second Issue mfg. 1880-1881, Bull-Dog one word hyphenate), 7 (.32), 6 (.38), or 5 (.44) shot fluted cylinder, 2 1/2 in. oblong barrel marked with dog's head treadmark and "TRADEMARK" "FOREHAND & WADSWORTH" and Maltese cross trademark (Third Issue mfg. 1881-1887), topstrap on Fourth Issue marked Forehand & Wadsworth only, blade front sight, groove rear sight, checkered, hard rubber, bird's head grips, swiveling cylinder pin, when pulled out it functions as an ejector rod. Mfg. circa late 1870s-early 1890s. RF=1.
