DEPUTY MODEL Description

.22 LR, .38 Spl., or .357 Mag. cal., 4 in. barrel, deluxe blue finish, walnut grips.

Announced in 1956, the first of these special revolvers were intended only for Great Western Arms Co. distributors and dealers. The accepted quantity is sixty guns. They all feature a 4" barrel with a full length sight rib with adjustable rear sight. These are the rarest of the cataloged Great Western revolvers, according to Great Western's service manager John McCormick, they number less than 100 and until recent years, many believed that only prototype Deputy Models were made. They appear in the 17XXX - 19XXX serial number range.
