.25 ACP cal., 6 shot mag. (magazines may be either blue, nickel, or in-the-white), 2 in. barrel, blue finish, markings on right side of slide "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO. WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. AUG.20.'07. APRIL 13, 1909" in three lines on left side of slide, "H&R SELF-LOADING CALIBER 25" in two lines on left side of frame at rear ser. no., the ser. no. is in its own series numbered from 01 to about 16,500. One source lists manufacture date between 1912 and 1916, however, it was featured in the catalogs until 1920. Mfg. 1912-1920.
The First Variation is serial numbered from 01 to approx. 10,000, with 12 slide serrations, magazine follower is flat and straight, right side of slide markings middle line is stretched out.
The Second Variation is serial numbered from approx. 10,000 to 16,500+, 16 slide serrations, magazine follower is curved and stepped at rear, right side of slide markings middle line compacted and in line with other markings.
