.22 LR cal., large frame, blue finish, oversized checkered walnut grips, adj. sights, automatic ejector, serial number location is on the front of the grip strap or on the left side of the grip frame under the grips and on the bottom of the breechblock, original production has a 10 inch barrel only, later production could be ordered with a 7 or 8 in. barrel, plastic, walnut, or birds-head grips (this model is referred to by collectors as "Rice Frame"), serial numbered in its own series from 01 up to about 40,000, after 1930 this model is known as the U.S.R.A. Model. Mfg. 1928-1942.
There are many sub-variations of this model due to special orders and factory reworks.
First Variation; two piece walnut grips, round ribbed barrel with non-adj. front sight, 10 inch barrel only - 1928.
Second variation; features a plunger type (round head) ejector, one-piece walnut grips - 1928-1929.
Third Variation; grooved trigger, name and model markings changed to U.S.R.A. Model 195 -1930.
Fourth Variation; 7 inch barrel length added, new front & rear sight and different shaped rib - 1931-1932.
Fifth Variation; grooved trigger, new barrel shape - 1933-1934.
Sixth variation; lever type automatic ejector - 1935-1942.
