.22 LR cal., chambered for .22 LR shot shell cartridge, essentially a Model B with a 6 3/4 in. smoothbore barrel only without choke, ivory bead front sight, left side of slide is stamped "HI-STANDARD MODEL S .22 LR SHOT ONLY", this variation was never a production model, ten are registered as Model S. Additional five with Model C slides are registered, Model C/S. Others may exist but only 15 are registered with BATFE (see serial numbers below). Manufactured in 1939 and 1940. Values for both variations are equal. 6 3/4 in. barrels. C-R.
Serial numbers: Model S - 48,142, 48,143, 48,144, 48,145, 48,146, 59,474 , 59,496, 59,458, 59,459, 59,493, Model C/S: 59,279, 59,460, 59,469, 59,473, 59,478. S/N 59,484 is listed as a Model S in the factory records but is not currently registered with the BATFE.
