V" with small hand emblem pointing a finger and "Patent No. 832 of July 12, 1838", no trigger guard, case colored cylinder and frame, browned barrel, wood stock with curved metal buttplate, no forearm, patchbox, perc. nipples on outside circumference of cylinder. Mfg. late 1830s, possibly by Springfield Arms Co., Springfield, MA. RF=5+.
